Search Results Clustering - New tool from Microsoft
Commercial Search Engines such as Vivisimo, Mooter, Exalead (beta), IBoogie, and Clusty provide Web Search Results clustering. However, now the major Search Engines can also have their search results clustered via 3rd party software that can be downloaded and used with results from Google, Yahoo and MSN Search. The following tools, including a new tool from Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA), provide new web search result clustering functionality:
TopGist Cluster Tool - http://www.topgist.com/
Dowser Cluster Tool - http://dowser.sourceforge.net/
MSRA Search Results Clustering - http://wsm.directtaps.net/default.aspx
"TopGist is a FREE software (Definitely No Spyware and Adware) that automatically clusters and personalizes your search results into hierarchical topic folders when you search on Google, Yahoo or MSN, and displays these topics within the web browser".
"Dowser is a research tool for the web. It clusters results from major search engines, associates words that appear in previous searches, and keeps a local cache of all the results you click on in a searchable database. It helps you keep track of what you find on the web".
"MSRA SRC Toolbar is a tool for searching web with the Search Result Clustering (SRC) technique, which is developed at Web Search and Mining Group in MSR, Asia. It on-the-fly clusters a certain search engine's search results into different groups, and provide meaningful and readable names for these groups. SRC changes the traditional representation of search results into a non-linear way, so as to facilitate user's browsing".
